Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and first made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the role of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 to be the Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded her the Academy Award for best support actress. Paquin moved to New Zealand from Canada as an infant and was raised there. In response to an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician who came from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre when she was still a toddler. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a lesser part. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
